Agreement and scope
The MIT License governs downloading, using, copying, modifying, and distributing AudioBud software. These terms govern the official project website, release and support pages, and other maintainer-operated surfaces. They do not govern software-license permissions. By using those maintainer-operated surfaces, you agree to these terms. Do not use those surfaces if you cannot agree to them. The project's official surfaces are the GitHub repository, its release pages, and audiobud.amditis.tech.
Open-source license
AudioBud's source code is released under the MIT License. The MIT License, not these website terms, governs copying, modifying, or distributing the source code. If these terms and the MIT License address the same source-code right, the MIT License controls.
The MIT License governs downloading and using copies of AudioBud software. Nothing in these terms limits permissions granted by the MIT License.
Using AudioBud
You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to you and for managing microphone permissions, device security, provider credentials, storage, backups, and the content you record, transcribe, process, or share. Do not interfere with project infrastructure, the issue tracker, release pages, or support channels, or submit unlawful or harmful content through them. These responsibilities do not narrow permissions granted by the MIT License.
Your content
You keep ownership of your content. The project receives no license to local audio or transcripts because it does not receive them. Requests you send to a third-party provider follow that provider's terms.
Optional providers and costs
You may choose a post-processing provider or custom endpoint and supply the credentials it requires. That provider's terms, privacy practices, and charges apply. AudioBud does not promise that a provider will remain available or handle output in a particular way.
Models, downloads, and third-party components
Models and other components can come from third-party hosts and remain subject to their licenses and notices. Verify that an app download comes from an official AudioBud release source. The project does not promise that every model or download will remain available.
Transcription and AI output
Transcription and AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Review it before using or sharing it. Do not rely on it without qualified human review for medical, legal, financial, emergency, accessibility, or other safety-related decisions.
Privacy
Read the AudioBud privacy policy for the app's local-first data boundary. Third-party providers, download hosts, GitHub, and linked sites are responsible for their own privacy practices and policies.
Availability, updates, and support
AudioBud is a free project. There is no promise of uptime, an update schedule, continued compatibility, or individual support. Features can change or be removed. Current release facts control over roadmap statements.
No warranty
The MIT License's warranty terms govern AudioBud software. The official project website and other maintainer-operated surfaces are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties to the extent permitted by law. These terms do not limit rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Limits on liability
The MIT License's liability terms govern AudioBud software. To the extent permitted by law, the maintainer and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, lost-data, or lost-profit damages arising from the official project website or other maintainer-operated surfaces. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Stopping use and changes
You can stop using the maintainer-operated surfaces at any time. New terms apply prospectively from their revised effective date. Continued use of those surfaces after revised terms are published means you accept them.
